About
About Me ( the unedited and uninterupted version): I believe that a person is never the property of anyone in this life. Not the property of another person; be it a spouse, sibling, friend or collegue, and most definitely not the property of a Business, Company or Corporation; and any one that thinks that they can begin to own & control another in this way is badly mistaken. ...........Nor do I believe in the negative, berating and undermining of people that is becoming so prevalent these days, particularly on popular talent programs and various reality shows. I can appreciate constructive critisism & know that it can actually be a good thing, but when things just disolve into a slinging match that seems to unify the hosts and audiance into some type of abominable backslapping monster and alienates the contestant---Forget It!...........and usually all of this mental attack will come from a person that expects to have his or her arse kissed in return. Half the time these contestants are just unsuspecting stooges anyhow and how disgusting is that in it self? I just don't know what it is these days, people think that they have this god given right to bitch and browbeat others into submission, and to intimidate to the point where a person is too afraid to blink sideways let alone voice an opinion. these are generally tactics adopted by out of control, mind controling nazis with a pathetic addiction to power. ................what does all of this have to do with music and ABC dig radio? My answer to you is this: Music of all things in life should be used for good, to raise peoples spirits, to heal, to unify and to free people from the ordinary everydayness of there lives and transport them to a better place if only for a short while, if you have the ability to do this then you have truely created an incredible thing, if on the other hand, you have consciously conspired (within a scene?!?! or not) to undermine or weaken the footing of another by way of a musical endevour, then I'm really sorry guys, but someone needs to shoot the messenger; what a disgusting, stupid and irresponsible thing to do with such a brilliant medium!! I'm ranting, sorry, nothing personal. What I am hoping for is that ABC DIG MUSIC will be able to offer its audience an unparalleled listening experience without all the crappy, pompous and often pretentious gasbagging that has the potential to go on and on over the airwaves, because it's about as useful as tits on a bull. And since when did Rock N Roll become such a snottish pursuit? I must of left the room for that one, thank god!!! I guess I have been an avid and lifelong music listener and would love to thank all the countless people who have given me endless hours of musical listening pleasure and entertainment, to me this has been a priceless thing in my life. I know a good thing when I hear it, and so I hope to hear a lot more of it from you ABC DIG MUSIC. Without all the merry-go-round repitition of course. {Half of this info needed to be rewritten on the 25-8-12 due to the second half of it disappearing during an edit about a week ago, consequently some of the original stuff has been lost}.

Paul Simon's Graceland
~Loved it when it was released in 1986 and still do, just a magical combination of sound and lyric~
#2 deadliest sin committed at a gig:
Checking e-mail, Facebook and Twitter every couple of minutes - that's just weird if you ask me.
Ahem, Der, Deeer,
& Deeeeeeer !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Isn't that the $64,000 question?
The song 'Season of the Witch' still sounds wonderful today.
Down in Splendour -- Gorgeous Song
How many times did I hear Carleen Anderson's Nervous Breakdown played on Triple J back in 1994? to many to count most probably, suffice to say this song and artist is embeded into my memory weather I like it or not. Thank goodness for new listening alternatives without the high repetition.
Grace is such a great electronica /new wave artist, A DIVA in fact, and so many memorable singles Like Slave to the Rhythm, Pull up to the Bumper, Warm Leatherette, I've Seen that Face Before, etc. She is x-pur-tease personified.
She is an inspirational person, I was a BIG BIG BIG fan of hers growing up, please play 'Don't let the Jones's get you down' sometime, it is such a excellent song.
This Charming Man,
one of my favourite Smiths songs.
I'd be lying if I said I was concerned, but it IS 'Richards' isn't it? Who Knows??????????????????????
An absolute legend.
Not many can create a musical Labyrinth the way Pink Floyd can-- Aural magic.
Alabama--excellent choice " the devil fools with the best laid plans" amazing song of the excellent Havest album.
I love all the indigenous instruments and language in this song: 'TREATY'
It just reminds me of what a Aussie I actually am.
And it also has this ancient thread running through it, which is really a wonderful thing to hear.
Kudos to Lennon -- who truely does warrent the accolade. I can think of a few others people that could've been on this list but are not, and just look how many British folk are on the list.
NME, biased? Oh no, not at all. *sigh*
Dear God.
LOOOVE. LOOOVE, LOOOVE, this song.
Playing some tremendous music this arvo.
Joy Division, such a different band, and I mean that in the truest sense of the word 'Different'. She's Lost Control, is just one of their signature song's now I guess.
They are so thrumming atmospheric!!
Best song of the afternoon thus far.
I understand what people mean about the Doors being over-rated blah, blah, blah but then I hear a song like Riders on the Storm, Hyacinth House, L.A. Women, The Wasp (Texas Radio and the Big Beat), Peace Frog, Cars Hiss by my Window, I may as well list all tracks on the L.A. Women Album plus others, and think to myself That I am part of the adoring army, but I ain't no turd TISM! Morrison knew how 'commercial' the band was becoming and how de rigueur THAT was percieved as being within 'the scene', and due to this, you can just imagine some of the more snide innuendo he was tolerating on a daily basis toward the end of his life. I have never really liked how he died, I love to listen to The Doors, I couldn't give a rip what anyone else thinks about that, Riders on the Storm is on of my all time favorite songs, nuff said, prob'ly....
.....and as for TISM, if only you knew how they, ahem, divined some of their lyrics.
note to Megan: saw the hard-ons play as a support band a few years back, Ray hadn't impressed me much--tuff luck!! The Ramones on the other hand would've been cool to have seen.
Loved these guys as a youngster, don't really listen to them much anymore and I haven't hear them in eons, so it was a nice 'timewarped' experience to hear you play their massive hit 'Alright Now' that ahem, generally gets flogged on more commercial stations.
Samba Pa Ti - This is a beautiful instrumental track could listen to it, or similar to it for hours.
River Deep, Mountain High.
Always loved the film clip to this song.
....and leave your stink eye at the door.
Just heard: It's A Shame about Ray.
Strange Comment? maybe, maybe not, it just depends on the reader really.
No Particular Place to Go (Hmmm Dilemma) -- excellent vintage, great song with a great sound, sooo good to be listening to such a diverse assortment of music, with an occasional twist of brilliance thrown in for good measure.
The Beatles: 'Rubber Soul' just one of their MANY amazing albums. It catapults me straight back to my childhood and adolescence. Such beautiful songwriting and musicanship. I found a copy of a book called; 'and the love you make', that was written about The Beatles, on a long distance train journey when I was 15 years old and devoured it within a couple of days. I have never forgotten that book or how I found it. It is soooooooo hard to choose a favorite song or a favorite album when it comes to these guys, I don't think I'll bother. More Beatles Please.
The original and the best version of Mustang Sally, remember what The Commitments did to this song? -- FRIGHTFUL!
Just heard Synchronicity II, of the Synchronicity album, this would have to be one of their best albums, before things got weird. I can still remember watching the vidio clip as a kid and thinking the song was unreal, it also takes me back to younger days--traveling into the city on the train during peak hour, this song has so many accurate and evocative descriptions in it, it just encapsulates the rat race to me.
Reading,Writing, arithmatic, I own a copy of this album, and have given it a real flogging over the many years I've had it in possession, 'Can't Be Sure' is just one of the many fabulous tracks on this album, in fact the whole album is a beautiful work of art, & Harriet Wheeler's voice is just sublime at times.
Just heard 'Frightened Fool' - what a GREAT song; the tempo, vibe, lyric, etc. I have never heard it before and was very impressed. Loved it. Now I will have to buy some of his stuff.
A much listened to artist in my home, I will never tire of listening to this man. He has such a clever way with words. It's brilliant!!!!!
Food for thought -probably my favorite UB40 song. It does take me back to a particular point in time.
Missing -- This is such an evocative song, both musically and lyrically.............And Tracy's voice is like liquid gold; B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L
