My partner and I brought up our 4 beautiful children now adults) in Mullumbimby, 15 minutes from Byron. They grew up seeing some of the most amazing music from all over the world at Byron Blues festivals throughout the 1990s. How blessed we are to have had all that fun and music as a family, great memories. We lost our eldest daughter in 2008 and one of our most treasured and rare family photos is one taken at a visit home by her from the UK, all 6 of us sitting together at the Blues Festival in 2006!. I still buy our boys tickets every year for Christmas/birthday. My sons are both really great musicians now and I know they were both inspired by what they saw and heard from so young. We live in Sydney for now, but Byron shire will always be home. thank you for this great competition and opportunity to share it with other family members!
