During the visit, Yoko said "He was a very sweet and gentle person at home....I was lucky to have someone like that with me".
Ono was in Liverpool to open a children's centre at Lennon’s former school Dovedale in the city’s Mossley Hill area.
Later in the day she visited Mendips, the house Lennon shared with his Aunt Mimi from 1945 to 1963. After surprising fellow tourists, an emotional Ono said, "Each time I come here I go into John's bedroom and it makes me choke up to know he was in there dreaming of what he was going to do."
