Eric says that writing his autobiography cleared up many of the misunderstandings caused by drinking and drug-taking in his younger years. It also put paid to some outlandish projects, including the bizarre script in which he was responsible for the deaths of Hendrix in 1970 and Vaughan in 1990.
Clapton tells Rolling Stone: "This guy wanted to make a movie about the fact that in order to be a virtuoso I had to kill all my idols."
