Wilco are heading back to the studio at the end of this month to start work on album number 8.

Although the band were due to begin crafting the new disc at the start of the year, frontman Jeff Tweedy has been busy producing Mavis staples' latest release, and album plans were shelved...until now.

In a recent interview, bassist John Stirratt hinted that the next disc would be “a lot more jarring” than its predecessor, which was recorded at Neil Finn's Roundhead studios in Auckland.
