West vs Maddah: festival showdown?

Ken West and AJ Maddah
Jan 12, 2012 Updated Jan 13, 2012

Big Day Out promoter Ken West has demonstrated his public honesty once again, this time hitting out against Soundwave promoter AJ Maddah.

In his recent video interview with the New Zealand Herald while talking about the reasons his partner Vivian Lees left the business last year, Ken mentioned that the festival competition levels had risen to an unworkable level.

Speaking to The Vine, West made it clear that AJ Maddah is one of the people to blame: “I'll say it to his face - I don't think AJ's got any interest in anything but his own agenda, he hasn't got any interest in the Australian music scene whatsoever. He should go to another country. He's done more harm to what was a reasonably stable business here by being a financial anarchist.” he said.

The usually vocal twitter user AJ has so far remained silent on the issue.
