The Modfather is not a fan of Grunge, apparently...

Speaking about the Seattle-based sound and the britpop movement that followed, Weller said:

"You'd had all that shoegazing bollocks and then the whole Nirvana thing, which I thought was ******* rubbish - it was just America catching up with punk rock 20 years too ******* late"

The Britpop explosion was apparently a far happier time for Weller, particularly as he now seems to go for the Liam Gallagher look (see photo).

"That was the first time ever that I'd felt any kinship with any musicians - even though they were all probably at least ten years younger than me."

And they still are, Paul...

Totally agree. Nirvana were one hit wonders whereas The Jam crunched out album after album of great stuff (not to mention Weller solo stuff). Also correct: 'Grunge' just sounds like a cross between Black Sabbath and early Kinks.

Though why he would want to look like Gallagher is a mystery. Oasis were part of the mid 90's British splutter back to half life.
