Walter - Tommy II
Entitled Floss, the show will feature songs interspersed with surround-sound effects, complex sound-scapes and musical montages. Fans of The Who will also be interested to hear that several of the more conventional songs from the show will be featured on a forthcoming Who recording, to be released in 2010.
According to Townshend, Floss tells the story of Walter, an ageing rocker who comes out of retirement to continue his career, writing songs that "evoke the ecologically rooted, apocalyptic mindset of his generation".
Mr Townshend is 64.
