Vivid Sydney welcomes Laurie and Lou

Lou Reed and Laurie Anderson
Mar 4, 2010 Updated Mar 20, 2010

Rock legend Lou Reed and his wife Laurie Anderson have been announced as the curators of this year's Vivid Sydney festival.

The pair, who will be joining creative forces for the first time, will take over the reigns from last year's curator, Brian Eno, who famously illuminated the sails of the Sydney Opera House with moving images.

Vivid Sydney, which happens during May and June, transforming the city with colour and light, will be expanding on last year's Luminous festival, with additional live performances and discussions.

The spectacle won't be limited to Sydney audiences, with live broadcasts of the public events being offered to internet audiences worldwide.

Vivid Sydney will run from May 27 to June 21, 2010.
