Vivian breaks BDO silence

Ex-Big Day Out promoter Vivian Lees has broken his silence about ending his 20 year Partnership with Ken West.

Lees explained that when he approached West with concerns about the festival facing insolvency and a need to recapitalise, Ken wouldn’t hear of it.

“It was appalling. I feel like I’ve been in an abusive relationship.” Vivian told The Age “I’ve no reservations about my decision. I feel strange being out of it when I’ve been a part of it for 20 years, but, at the same time, I couldn’t work with him. I found him too objectionable.”
