Two more biggies for Bluesfest

Legendary performers George Clinton and Leon Russell have been added to the burgeoning bill at this year's Bluesfest.

It'll be Russell's first visit to Australia in a long career that's seen him perform alongside the likes of Jerry Lee Lewis, George Harrison, The Byrds, Willie Nelson, Frank Sinatra and The Rolling Stones.

Clinton, mastermind behind funk legends Parliament and Funkadelic, will - like Russell- be treading the bluesfest boards on the festival's final day, April 26th.

He was the mastermind of the bands Parliament and Funkadelic during the 1970s and early 1980s, and began his work as a solo artist in 1981. He has been called one of the most prominent innovators of funk music, along with James Brown and Sly Stone....
