Tommy 2011

Roger Daltrey in Tommy
Feb 14, 2011 Updated Feb 15, 2011

The UK's Teenage Cancer Trust's 2011 series is to include a special performance by Roger Daltrey of The Who's 1969 rock opera Tommy.

It's unclear at this stage whether Pete Townshend will join Daltry for the March 24th gig...Townshend's hearing problems have reportedly worsened of late and may signal the end of the band's performing career.

Daltrey, who underwent surgery in 2009 to remove a pre-cancerous growth on his vocal cords, will also perform material from The Who classic Live at Leeds.

This year’s series of gigs runs between the 21st and 27th of March and includes performances by Squeeze, Biffy Clyro, Liam Gallagher's new band Beady Eye and Tinie Tempah.
