Since John Lennon's death in 1980 there have been many tributes to the former Beatle, but now his story is to be re-told - in a comic book.

Orbit: John Lennon will hit the shelves in December this year, written by Marc Shapiro - who was responsible for Selena Gomez: The Graphic Novel - and illustrated by Brazilian-based artist Luciano Kars.

Shapiro said he worked hard to capture the essence of Lennon's story in the 32-page publication, which ends with speculation as to "what might have been" if Lennon hadn't died.
