The singer, wearing her trademark low-cut dress, was filmed singing a version of her hit Hot & Cold alongside puppet character Elmo. It's not clear whether Elmo was embarrassed by his co-star's attire, as he's naturally red anyway.
A video of the performance was leaked on YouTube and parents, outraged by Perry's busty shenanigans, protested in their thousands on various web forums.
In light of the protests, Sesame Street's producers decided not to use the clip, and put out a statement:
"In light of the feedback we've received on the Katy Perry music video...we have decided we will not air the segment on the television broadcast of Sesame Street, which is aimed at preschoolers."
