News of two more sporting events with big music names attached...

The Beach Boys have been named as the headline entertainment act at the Gold Coast 600 motor race in south-east Queensland in October.

The band's Mike Love says the Gold Coast gig will be a one-off on this trip but they are planning another visit to Australia in 2012.

Meanwhile, Guns N' Roses are tipped to return Down Under later this year for the Sydney 500 V8 Supercar event. The band are hot favourites to headline at the series finale in early December.

"They've indicated they are willing to do it," said a source close to the negotiations."It's just a matter of getting the contracts signed."
