Splendour in Byron 2012?
Since purchasing the Yelgun site in the North Byron Parkland in 2009, the festival has faced major opposition from the local council who have wanted to enforce a local environment plan to limit major events in the area.
NSW Planning and Infrastructure has just released an Environmental Assessment Report for the area, stating that they consider the site suitable for three major events a year.
Splendour promoter Jess Ducrou says the report is great news and said “once there is a determination on the proposal we will be able to work out where Splendour will be held in 2012.”
