silverchair take a back seat

Hard to believe that silverchair have been together for almost 20 years...but they won't quite make that anniversary.

The Newcastle 3-piece - who have been playing together they were 12 - have announced that they're going into "Indefinite hibernation" and will no longer make music together.

"We assure you that this decision has not been taken lightly" a band statement reads "In fact we've been struggling with it for quite a while now".
