The Newcastle 3-piece - who have been playing together they were 12 - have announced that they're going into "Indefinite hibernation" and will no longer make music together.
"We assure you that this decision has not been taken lightly" a band statement reads "In fact we've been struggling with it for quite a while now".

Silverchair were an Australian rock band, which formed in 1992 as Innocent Criminals in Merewether, Newcastle with the line-up of Ben Gillies on drums, Chris Joannou on bass guitar and Daniel Johns on vocals and guitars.
