Ticketing agencies Ticketek and Ticketmaster are favourites to win Choice magazine's annual Shonky Award this year.

The pair have attracted 40% of the votes cast so far in the poll which seeks to highlight “misleading claims, false advertising, lack of transparency, faulty goods and/or poor service”.

Choice cites the duopoly's hidden fees and charges - along with their regular service meltdowns - as being particularly deserving of the dubious honour.
