Wearing a very sober suit and tie - plus new teeth - the quintessential 24 hour party person and pigeon poisoner surprised everyone by marrying long-term girlfriend Joanne at the weekend, having invited nearest and dearest to the christening of their 10-month-old daughter Lulu.
Chilling tales of The Mondays' debauchery are many...In 1992, Factory Records sent the band to Barbados to record the ill-fated album Yes Please, largely because the island was free of heroin.
Ryder compensated by promptly developing a crack cocaine habit.
Shaun recently announced he is reforming his Nineties band Black Grape for an April 1 gig.
Of his new-found fitness, Shaun says "I do believe you are what you eat. I was a pie for a long time".

Artist Biography
Happy Mondays is an English alternative rock band from Salford, Greater Manchester. Formed in 1980, the band's original line-up was Shaun Ryder on lead vocals, his brother Paul Ryder on bass, lead guitarist Mark Day, keyboardist Paul Davis, and drummer Gary Whelan. Mark "Bez" Berry would later join the band onstage during a live performance after befriending Shaun Ryder and served as a dealer....
