Melbourne alt-rockers Something For Kate have announced their first national tour in five years.

Paul Dempsey, Stephanie Ashworth and Clint Hyndman will tour in support of the band's new album Leave Your Soul To Science, the trio's first release since 2006's Desert Lights.

The tour kicks off in Melbourne on October 6, followed by dates in Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Fremantle.

Tour dates:

Saturday 6th October – The Corner, Melbourne
Friday 12th October – The Metro, Sydney
Saturday 13th October – The Zoo, Brisbane
Friday 26th October – The Gov, Adelaide
Saturday 27th October – Fly By Night, Fremantle
