See Emily Play...with Syd

Pink Floyd 1967
Dec 3, 2009 Updated Dec 4, 2009

In the week where Pink Floyd's uber-album 'The Wall' celebrated its 30th birthday, rare footage of the band performing with founding member Syd Barrett has been unearthed in the UK.

The performance of 'See Emily Play' was on a reel of one inch video tape, which contained two episodes of the UK chart show Top of the Pops from 1967.

The find is a lucky one, as early video tapes were both expensive and difficult to store, meaning they were often wiped after use.

The British Film Institute will show the restored footage at its Missing Believed Wiped annual event on January the ninth.
