Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood has grabbed the UK's Music Radio Personality of the Year Award.

Wood, 64 next month, beat off competition from fellow muso Jarvis Cocker to take out the prestigious gong for his show on Absolute Radio, which had the award panel raving: "Ronnie has lived the life of a thousand men and you feel like a child sitting at his feet as he unfolds his rarefied story book and recounts his great adventures".
