Former Fab Four drummer Ringo Starr is to visit Australia for the first time in almost 50 years for a tour early in 2013.

Although Aussie dates aren't released until Monday, Ringo's All Starr Band - featuring the likes of Todd Rundgren and drummer Greg Bisonette, who is incidentally also the current voice of Winnie the Pooh - have shows booked in New Zealand on February 7 and 9 and a run of Japanese dates kicking off on February 25, so any Aussie gigs will probably sit somewhere in between.
