Fortunately I've been to Ravi Shankar's concerts, especially when Ustad Allah Rahka was his tabla player.
My first time when I was 14, in Newark NJ. They both came out after the concert to speak with us, and autographed concert programs. What kind, loving spirits. I was hooked.
My collection of Ravi's recordings are second only to the Beatles.
So glad to have gone to his 'Farewell Concert to Australia', when his daughter Anoushka played with him.
Obviously unwell, and now passed, I will miss him for the rest of my life.
I LOVE PANDIT RAVI SHANKAR AND HIS BEAUTIFUL CONTRIBUTION TO MUSIC EVERYWHERE.
