Traditional radio rivalries were set aside this morning as broadcasters across AM and FM bands got together to celebrate the advent of digital radio in Australia.
Events were held in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, where ABC Radio National, ABC Classic FM, ABC NewsRadio, triple j and ABC Local Radio are all now available on digital radio, alongside its three new music stations, ABC Dig Music, ABC Country and ABC Jazz.
Programs on the ABC, SBS and commercial stations broadcast live side-by-side at the various events, with hosts joining each other's shows as guests.
Flying the ABC flag at the event in Sydney's Martin Place was 702 ABC Sydney's Adam Spencer (see photo).

what a drab looking bunch. if it weren't for the guy in the red shirt one would have to assume that digital radio is broadcast in monochrome.
fortunatly I know that dig is broadcast in glorious colour - I use an old set top box (the tv picture became crap) as a tuner hooked up to the stereo in my office and have it on all day.
I am always surprised by the the number of ex J's people are on commercial radio.
