Porridge for Perkins
Tex is sending himself to the Port Phillip Prison in Laverton, Victoria to film Johnny Cash classics such as Ring of Fire, I Walk the Line and Folsom Prison Blues. These performances will feature in a promo for the show entitled The Man In Black, which stars Tex as Johnny Cash and Rachael Tidd as June Carter Cash. Other musicians to feature include Peter Luscombe, James Black, Steve Hadley and Ash Naylor making up Cash's original Tennessee Four.
The Man In Black is a two-hour performance that interweaves Cash’s music with his life story. The show runs from September 1-12 at The Melbourne Athenaeum Theatre and from October 14 at Twelfth Night in Brisbane.
