According to Jeff Jones, Chief Executive of Apple Corps, the vinyl remasters will follow this year's wildly successful Mono and Stereo CD reissues, with the engineers at Abbey Road and Apple already hard at work: "They are incredibly complicated in terms of getting the masters right and getting the packages right," added Jones.
As if that wasn't enough, The Beatles' entire back catalogue has been made available to buy digitally for the first time. US-based download site BlueBeat.com is selling the tracks – which include The Beatles' recently released remastered albums – and also streaming them online for users to listen to as many times as they like for free.
However, it is unclear (and somewhat unlikely) whether EMI and Apple Corps – who must give permission for The Beatles' music to be sold online – have agreed to let the website distribute the tracks.
