Phil Collins has been forced to stop drumming following surgery earlier this year.

The 58 year old former Genesis frontman had surgery in April to repair a dislocated vertebra in his neck and has since lost all feeling in his fingers.  Collins, who now lives in Switzerland, was quoted this week as saying that the only way he could play the drums is if he glued the drumsticks to his hands.Collins' physical setback is not dampening his recording ambitions, with plans to release an album of Motown covers next year.
