Apr 6, 2010 Updated Apr 7, 2010

Joy Division and New Order bassist and co-founder Peter Hook has announced that he'll perform all the songs off Joy Division's first album, for the first time ever.

The band's debut album, Unknown Pleasures came out in June 1979, less than 12 months before lead singer Ian Curtis comitted suicide.

Although the release could have been considered a failure then peaking at just 72 on the UK chart, it has since been recognised at one of the greatest British albums of all time.

Peter Hook will perform Unknown Pleasures in full at his club FAC 51 in Manchester, on May 18.
