No sting in the tail

After his spray against UK talent show X Factor, Sting was a little more generous in his praise of Indigenous singer Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu.

The pair got together in Paris to perform The Police evergreen Every Breath You Take  for French TV.

Gurrumul is on his maiden European tour, taking in Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Britain and Ireland.

The Times newspaper in the UK described the singer's voice as being "as sumptuously soothing as a log fire on a freezing night".

Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu (born 1970) is an Indigenous Australian musician, who sings in the Yolngu language. He was born in Galiwin'ku, off the coast of Arnhem Land, Northern Australia about 580 kilometres from Darwin. He is from the Gumatj clan of the Yolngu and his mother from the Galpu nation. He was born blind, has never learned Braille and does not have a guide dog or use a white cane....
