NIMA set for August debut

The inaugural National Indigenous Music Awards will take place on August 19.

The announcement comes after seven years of recognition and reward for Indigenous talent in the Northern Territory through the work of Music NT.

The peer-nominated awards will "recognise excellence, dedication, innovation and outstanding contribution to the Indigenous Music Industry".

The award ceremony will be held at Darwin's Botanic Gardens, and will feature performances from Dan Sultan, Warumpi, Coloured Stone and No Fixed Address.
