New Gurrumul album in March
The news was dropped by Gurrumul’s friend and musical collaborator Michael Hohnen from Skinnyfish Music in an interview with ABC Radio in Darwin this week.
The planned second album will be the follow up to the 2008 debut release Gurrumul, which earned the singer songwriter international recognition, as well as ARIA and Deadly Awards here at home.
Gurrumul has been working on the new album while taking a break from international touring in recent months due to ill health. But this has given the artist time to explore some new approaches, with Gurrumul reportedly playing drums, bass, piano and electric guitar on the new recording.
Here's a link to the interview with Michael Hohnen.
