UK Modfather Paul Weller - soon to visit Oz for a series of gigs - has criticised people who "spend all evening" on Facebook and MySpace.

The former Jam singer told the Independent newspaper that although he enjoys using modern technology to record songs, social networking sites are "bullshit".

"Why not go down the pub?" he suggested, before adding anecdotally "A guy once came up to me at a gig and asked me if I had MySpace. I said, 'This is my space, and you're invading it',"
