Elbow's Guy Garvey, The Avalanches and Massive Attack's Robert del Naja are among those working on a new Aussie musical about King Kong.

The show has been created by Global Creatures, a Sydney-based company responsible for the recent Walking With Dinosaurs arena show and will run for 12 weeks at Melbourne's Regent Theatre from November next year.

Apart from the music, the musical also features a six-metre high King Kong, currently being built in a Melbourne warehouse.
