The lineup for the 2010 Melbourne International Arts Festival has been announced, and there's plenty for music fans to get their teeth into.

Perhaps most notable is a 3 hour gig on October 23rd which will close this year's proceedings.

Seven Songs to Leave Behind features an impressive line-up of voices brought together for the first time to celebrate the power of song.

Sinead O’Connor, John Cale, Rickie Lee Jones and Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu are just a few of the artists who will each perform seven classic songs that hold special meaning to them.

The singers will be luxuriously backed by  Orchestra Victoria and a hand-picked band of Australia’s finest instrumentalists.
