Morrissey: "Don't touch my back catalogue"
All becomes a little clearer when the former Smith's gladdie-waver explains that the material in question are two box sets of reissues for which he'll receive no royalties.
Morrissey told website true-to-you.net that he wouldn't receive any money from the reissues and that he was not asked for approval for their release, and asks fans “not to bother buying them.”
The offending items are The 7" Singles 88-91 and The HMV/Parlophone Singles 91-95. Both sets offer reproduction 7" vinyl singles from Morrissey’s career, complete with all the B sides and original packaging.
Faithful fans will be able to ignore them completely when they hit the shops on October 12th and November 2nd.
