Megan Washington takes out Vanda and Young Songwriting comp
Melbourne singer-songwriter Megan Washington has taken out the first ever Vanda and Young Songwriting Competition award for her song ‘How To Tame Lions’.
The 23 year-old will receive $50,000 worth of cash and prizes, including airfares, studio recording time and a Gibson guitar.
The competition was set up in honour of the chief songwriters from The Easybeats, Harry Vanda and George Young, and has so far raised more than $130,000 for the not-for-profit group Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy Australia.

I would ask Megan what is her reason for supporting the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy program. Also who inspires Megan most in the current batch of Australian songwriters
