LSD lyrics make a mozza

John Lennon's handwritten lyrics for The Beatles' 1967 single Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds sold in LA last night for a little over $223,000.

The single sheet of paper features the opening lyrics for the track and a rough sketch of four people in a room with windows draped in curtains.

The song is still considered by many as being a tribute to the hallucinogenic drug LSD, despite Lennon's insistence that it was in fact inspired by a drawing by son Julian of his childhood classmate Lucy Vodden (pictured above with the drawing), who passed away in 2009.
