Lou's lyrics top the list

But we think he’s dropped enough stinkers over the years to not entirely merit his reputation as a consistently great lyricist.”
Rock'n'Roll's Most Overrated Lyricists (according to Flavorwire):
1. Lou Reed
2. Paul Banks of Interpol
3. Serj Tankian of System of a Down
4. Bernard Sumner of New Order
5. Matt Bellamy of Muse

7. Jim Morrison

ha ha...I love these lists...
Lou Reed's lyrics @ his drug-fu*ked worst could not compare to the lyrics of Stock Aitken & Waterman who assaulted the music industry for far too long without ever being held accountable...stinker after stinker and no one put a stop to it...and now no one reflects on how bad they really were and poor old Lou writes a couple of questionable lines during a period of time somewhere between Great and Greater and he's voted "worst lyricist of all time"...

Hi Andy...ta for the comments.
It's actually 'Most Overrated'... I don't think anyone could honestly say he was the worst...there's too many other contenders! 'Overrated' is hard to quantify, but it seems - like you say - that all that it takes is for a good writer to have a lapse or two, and bingo!...they're on the list.
