70s popster Leo Sayer has taken a pop at Sir Paul McCartney.

Writing on his Facebook page, Sayer - who now lives in Sydney -  referred to Macca’s Olympics performance as "embarrassing", adding "Mate sorry, we all love you, but the voice is gone..."

Following the news that each opening ceremony artist had been paid a token one pound fee to perform, Sayer wrote "In the case of McCartney, they certainly got their money's worth".
