John Lennon
Oct 29, 2009 Updated Nov 3, 2009

The trailer for Nowhere Boy, a film based on John Lennon’s teenage years, has been released online.

The movie, not slated for release until late December, details Lennon’s early life, when he was being raised by his Aunt Mimi, played onscreen by Kristen Scott-Thomas.

Although the film depicts the teenage Lennon's first meeting with Paul McCartney, Nowhere Boy is less about the Beatles’ development and more concerned with Lennon’s relationships with his Aunt Mimi and mother Julia, who died in a car crash in 1958 at the age of 44, when John was only 17.

London electro outfit Goldfrapp provide the score for the movie, which is due for release in the UK on Christmas Day.
