The email, from Island's Senior Vice President David Sharpe, received extensive coverage - prompting suggestions that it was actually a clever marketing stunt in the build-up to the July 26 release of Praise & Blame, a collection of spirituals and blues numbers.
A clearly peeved Sir Tom made his own enquiries "I found out that he's some fella who signs checks or something" he said, adding "They've apologized, they can't apologize enough - and they've said, 'We'll make good on this.'"
No apologies for using that photo again. We just like it.
