One of Rock's eldest statesmen Keith Richards has been offering advice on drug use to trainee train wrecks Pete Doherty and Amy Winehouse.

"Amy Winehouse and Pete take drugs for the same reasons we did," he told Anothermag.com. "All I'd say is take your drugs in your spare time, if that's what you want to do, but don't mix it up."

The Rolling stones guitarist also confirmed the bizarre and oft-doubted story that he had snorted his dad's ashes.

"Some of them blew out over the table," he recalled. "So I wet my finger and I shoved a bit of me Dad up my ******* hooter...The rest I put around an oak tree."
