Katy Perry stands up Aussie designer
The Sydney-based designer, who owns a loungewear clothing label was asked by the singer's lawyers in May to withdraw her trademark application to use her name for her label. The singer, whose real name is Kathryn Elizabeth Hudson, dropped the case just hours before it was set for court.
The designer Perry was keen to meet the singer when she was in the country last week, but Perry's record company EMI rejected the offer on the grounds that she was pressed for time.
The legal case was off-limits during singer Perry's Australian visit, with rumours that she cancelled one television interview, fearing the topic would be raised.
