Karen O up for a Grammy

Karen O
Dec 14, 2009 Updated Dec 15, 2009

The Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Karen O has scored herself a Grammy nomination for the track ‘All Is Love’ from the film adaptation of Where The Wild Things Are, following the disqualification of a tune by pop princess Miley Cyrus.

The motivation behind Cyrus’s disqualification is unclear, but it’s rumoured that the song - which featured in Hannah Montana: The Movie  hadn’t been written specifically for the film, and therefore didn’t meet the Grammy selection criteria. Other nominees up for awards in the ‘Best Song Written For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media’ category include Paramore's 'Decode' from the New Moon film, Bruce Springsteen's ‘The Wrestler’ from the movie staring Mickey Rourke and ‘Jai Ho’, the A.R. Rahman track from Slumdog MillionaireThe. Grammy Awards happen on January 31, 2010.
