Ted Nugent
Aug 24, 2010 Updated Aug 25, 2010

Rocker Ted Nugent has revealed he tried to wean guitar great Jimi Hendrix off drugs in the months before he died in 1970.

Nugent experienced the extent of his hero's drug intake during a jam session with Hendrix backstage at a concert - where he was offered all manner of narcotics.

"I got to jam in a dressing room with Jimi Hendrix...and I said, 'Jimi, I don't want any of your dope and I don't want any of your drugs because I'm digging what you're playing'".

Nugent is apprently not so picky when it comes to substance abuse in his other great passion - hunting. Last week he was fined close to two thousand dollars for using an illegal deer bait called...wait for it...C'Mere Deer...on his hunting reality TV show 'Spirit of the Wild'.

Its a known fact Ted is a sober guy but I don't know if hes an extremist because he ever had a drug problem? Either way, I am a fan of his music & can respect his drive to keep others sober. Not too mig a fan of the hunting though :(
