Joy Division's plaque attack
Now seminal UK post-punkers Joy Division are to be honoured with a blue plaque in the UK town of Rochdale, marking the studios where they recorded.
The Kenion Street Music Building, which also featured in the movie 24 Hour Party People, was formerly JD bassist Pete Hook's Suite 16 studios.
Hook is to be joined by contemporaries including Inspiral Carpets' Clint Boon and OMD's Andy McClusky for the grand unveiling on September 23.

Joy Division were an English rock band formed in 1976 in Salford, Greater Manchester. Originally named Warsaw, the band primarily consisted of Ian Curtis (vocals and occasional guitar), Bernard Sumner (guitar and keyboards), Peter Hook (bass guitar and backing vocals) and Stephen Morris (drums and percussion).
