Mauboy received four awards; Female Artist of the Year, Single of the Year for her hit Burn, Album of the Year for Been Waiting, and APRA Song of the Year for Running Back - a gong she shares with co-writers Sean Mullins and Audius Mtawarira.
Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu was voted Male Artist of the Year for the second year in a row, while 80-year-old singer-songwriter Seaman Dan was honoured with the Jimmy Little Life Achievement Award at the Opera House ceremony.

Jessica Hilda Mauboy (born 4 August 1989), is an Indigenous Australian R&B singer-songwriter and actress. In 2006, Mauboy was the runner-up on the fourth season of Australian Idol, she had auditioned for the talent show in Alice Springs to pursue a recording career.
