Jeff Martin, former frontman of defunct Canadian rockers The Tea Party, has formed a band with two members of Perth band The Sleepy Jackson.

Martin, who now lives in Perth, has teamed up with bassist Jonathon Dudman - aka Jay Cortez - and drummer Malcolm Clark, and the as yet unnamed trio are currently in the studio.

“The combination of the two of them plus myself with an incredible rhythm section behind me makes a very credible rock trio again,” Martin said. “I am very excited about the future.”

The Tea Party is a Canadian rock band with blues, progressive rock, Indian and Middle Eastern influences, dubbed "Moroccan roll" by the media. Active throughout the 1990s up until 2005 when the band broke up, The Tea Party released eight albums on EMI Music Canada, selling 1.6 million records worldwide, and achieving a #1 Canadian single "Heaven Coming Down" in 1999. I would cut my arms off and run to perth from airly to play with jeff.. However it would be rather inconvenient to have no arms in a band.. Well i'd learn the harmonica better than any other before me anyhow.
