Sony Entertainment and the estate of Michael Jackson have signed a record-breaking $273 million deal for distribution rights through to 2017.

The deal involves as many as 10 new Jackson projects and may include computer games as well as music and film releases, the LA Times reports.

The late singer's heirs stand to net at least $220 million, even after Jackson's huge debts - which run into hundreds of millions - are paid off.
